Placement Training Workshop

An intensive 2-day Placement Training Programme was exclusively delivered for the final-year students of the Department of Tourism Studies at Madras Christian College to enhance their employability skills and professional readiness.

The training focused on essential competencies required to excel in today’s competitive job market and was conducted with a structured and practical approach.

Comprehensive One-to-One Mock Interviews

  • A major highlight of the programme was the individual mock interview session, where every student underwent a personalized interview experience simulating real corporate recruitment processes.
  • Each student received a detailed interview assessment report with constructive feedback.
  • Practical suggestions were given for improving content delivery, confidence, clarity of thought, and body language during interviews.

Interview Etiquette & Formal Dress Code Guidance

Students were guided on professional grooming standards and the importance of formal attire in interviews.

Experts provided insights into:

  • Appropriate colours to choose when wearing formal outfits.
  • Dress etiquette and grooming fundamentals to create a positive first impression.

Group Discussion (GD) Training with Video-Based Feedback

The programme included a mock Group Discussion session, which was video recorded to help students visually review their performance.

Feedback was delivered on:

  • Verbal communication, analytical thinking and leadership skills.
  • Non-verbal cues, such as posture, eye contact, facial expressions and hand gestures.

Resume Writing & Career-Focused Skill Development

Students received hands-on guidance on professional resume writing, including structure, formatting, and highlighting achievements effectively.

Discussions also covered:

  • Workplace challenges and problem-solving skills.
  • Work-life balance and stress management techniques.
  • Skills required for long-term sustainability in the workplace.
  • Key factors to consider while choosing a job, aligning personal strengths and career goals.

Program Outcome
